We Do Not Choose Our Families.

I recall in the early stages of my professional life that is the early 2000’s, I was in an office with a gentlemanπŸ•΄οΈ who had to battle backlash and disdain words from his colleague just by the family he is from. The colleague wrongly thought and believed that, this gentleman has the opportunity of work he is doing as a result of the family he is associated with. And with that, the colleague never cease an opportunity to be unkind, negative and gossip. Looking back, may be envy played a role. 😁

Why must you get this role to work on a project when I am equally competent or even better than you? Says the gentleman who did not speak well of his colleague…The actions of this ‘bitter’ gentleman was appalling. My thought is, who even determines our competence on the same level by the way?

This gentleman with family affiliation was capable, good at what he does continuously, he was learning on the the job too. He successfully executed projects alongside his senior colleagues. Great attitude and a pleasant personality he had. Extremely peaceful, calm but focused. Yet, he had to suffer dislike and gossip from his colleague who thinks he is better and deserves all the working privileges this gentleman has. It wasn’t even like this colleague was in a place worse off.

On one of the days after secret complaints and silent gossip about him, this gentleman in a brief chit-chat with me goes like: “Tina, but we do not choose the family we come from”…With his salient and calm voice. The thought of it still echoes. 😊 Why must he suffer for coming from perhaps a ‘good, well to do and recognized’ family?

So I have read puzzles and seen memes as well as playful writings online asking: “How would you want to be born if you have the chance to be rebirthed”? Which country, society or family would you want to be born back into once given the chance? Lol. And the answers, you can imagine or envisage. Very hilarious ones I must say.

For a fact, we are all born into the right families, society, country, occupations and privileges. The fun aspect which is hard is the uncertainties of living until we get to our various destinations. God never makes any wrong moves!πŸ™ As to why one may be tempted to think he could be better off if born into a particular family i believe is a myth.

Yes! Struggles and challenges differ just as opportunities based on the family or country we may be born into. It can also clearly be seen that, there have been certain people born in good homes but have not been able to do anything good with their lives. They do not turn out well. Some of these guys get wasted!

Not everyone can be born with a silver spoon in their mouth is truly an accurate phrase. No matter your state, who you are, who God says you are and what you live to fight for daily can make or unmake you. In other words, Destiny and Purpose can find you to make or unmake you. So while I may be thinking being born into a royal home 🏑 or a well to do home may be the ultimate guarantee to everything nice, I can only appreciate life better if my current state is utilized better to make the most out of living.

Some people have been born into well to do homes but end up doing extremely well for themselves as a result of their discipline, determination and drive for success. They do not rely on family name and background. They work their heart out. To think that, not all of such people get it soft from personal experiences going through all the necessary process. Yet, they is also another born into a difficult home and lack discipline and drive. The person/people get wasted too instead of succeeding.

There is no straight jacket way to make it. Whether rich or poor and wealthy or not. It differs. What is key is the discipline, determination and drive for success coupled with the ability to handle and overcome challenges

I do not need to be born anywhere to fulfill purpose. God has a plan and so does he give grace, grit and he extends his mercy in all. Do you quit or fight because your family isn’t well to do? And do you relax also if you are from a well to do family? πŸ‘ͺ We all will answer in affirmative and say No.

So when you are tempted to be judgemental, discredit, dislike, maltreat, envy and talk about another person as a result of his or her family affiliation, remember life gives everyone room and chances to make it. Their strengths and talents can speak for them as supposed family background.

No matter where you are from, we can all make it.

We can achieve and accomplish remarkable heights.

Destiny will be fulfilled.

The trajectory of life is such that, once we put in the work, it will speak for itself. We only have to work.. Just work, be diligent, live, plan and practice gratitude.

Practice lots of love as well. Saves the trouble of envy and comparison.

You are a royal priesthood by the way. 1 Peter 2:9. You are: Worthy. Blessed. Special. Extraordinary. Let’s just practice who we really are by not looking at someone else. We might lose out on our blessings in course of dislike. God gives gifts in equal measure. Ready to grab mine. Hope you do.🎁 πŸ’

Stay at the Top. See you too at the Top!

Thank you for the read.

A Heart Like A Mothers…

It was in the early hours of 24th December 2020 when I happened to have lost a phone. This phone was barely 4 months old.

Good good phone! Camera quality was top notch, space and capacity was huge, easy to navigate and great for reading πŸ“š These and many more this phone offers.

Pardon me for my phone rant and talk🀦

I am not so much a gadget person but a phone is one of the best tools anyone could have currently especially those of us who read and write with it.

To think that the phone contains so many things, I wasn’t certain if it was backed up, plus it did cost quite a ransom. I couldn’t believe i misplaced it within a minute.😊

Losing the phone did reduce the excitement for me about the season. From 100 to zero. I mean…Those who have dropped ‘key’ phones without finding them before can relate. 😁

My blessed little brother says he has never lost a phone. My man can’t seem to get his head around fact that I lost this phone… In his own words, ‘how the heck. I can’t seem to get how this happened’.πŸ˜₯ Does this make some of us careless? No!!! But, things happen.

Then my mom. On the lost of phone…The empathy! I saw she wanted to bear the pain with me talking to her on phone over the loss. I could feel it and it was easy to see through her heart, emotions and words.

At that moment, I couldn’t believe we were grieving over a phone. Her compassion most importantly was so strong.

Anything she could do to ensure I was okay, she would have. She would have easily produced same phone by buying for me if I was my younger self.

I could feel that desire of ensuring a replacement from her. Then the mothers love filled my thoughts and heart.❀️

Our mothers are always present in little, not so little and in big issues of our lives. If mine would be with me even over a phone i misplaced, wouldn’t she be there in the bigger things and issues?

‘She is always there. A sacrificial mother’.

My mom bought me shoes and clothes I love growing up. My love for shoes came from her. She bought them for me, different types and in many colours for church and other occasions. Like “most” mothers will do for their kids, there are so much we all can say about our mothers tangibly and intangibly.

To the point when I started working, mine still got me some gifts like shoes. I had days I saw a shoe I so loved but could not afford to buy it since it will affect my available cash when I started National Service and Work. Expressing my love for the shoe is enough for her to want to surprise me by getting it from the shop or vendor when I am not aware. She knew all the places I shopped from aside from the ones she took me.

‘Aside shoes, there has been a lot. From replacing old laptops to gadgets and a car, most of us have women in our lives who would do all they can to see us smile’.

A mother’s love is sacrificial, immeasurable and priceless.

What are some of the sacrifices and love your mom has shown you over the years? Even as an adult? Time to give them back all the love they gave….

Here to love on mothers with you. Mine is not left out.πŸ€—

If our parents on earth 🌍 have this heart for us ensuring we are happy and have no need, how about our Heavenly Father?

The empathy with mine over the phone I did lose, the compassion and love she gives, how would we not appreciate the love women in our lives make us feel?

The good book in Philippians 4:19 says: “He provided every need we have according to his riches in Glory”.

God Got You & his Heart for You is Perfect just like the Heart & Love of a Mother.πŸ’“

Never Give Up!

Spread love & light wherever. Cheers!πŸ₯‚

On My Knees

My journey as a corporate lady has been all sort of nice, amazing, full of great learning, lessons & impactful experiences.

Corporate will show you “shege” sometimes!

Some days were surreal & other days, roller-coaster days with pertinent issues and noise to deal with.

However, in all these has been growth. Quite remarkable.

Greater sense of resilience and purpose. This young lady keeps evolving and finding purpose.

OUR Grit & Grace Keeps us going. Baby steps. We are getting thereπŸ₯°

How has your journey in your venture been so far? I will love to listen to yours sometime. How will you describe it?…

In all this as you mull a bit, permit me to remind you that, you are blessed regardless. Practice Gratitude.πŸ™

I remember there were days of sleeping 😴 sound every night πŸŒ™ with nothing work related to think about nor worry. Thank God for those days. I am here asking myself did I say thank you enough to God for those days?lol…And there were equally days of sleeplessness nights over a target or performance to make up for.πŸ’€ Such a world we live in! Imagine these are counted as past issues now. Lol

The sound nights outweighs the sleepless nights by the way.πŸ€— Nonetheless, what runs common in these two beautiful days are: ‘work, experience and lessons’. Issues of life and success.😊πŸ₯° Nothing is permanent. So while at it, live life. Be happy. Learn. Grow. Impact. Just Live!

I took a leave of absence from work today and in course of day, I was surfing. Listening to audios, podcasts and seeing videos come up as I browse, I chanced upon a sermon by Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams online few minutes back on the need to pray every day even if it is 5 or 10 minutes. Morning, noon and night. Practically, he reiterates the fact that, we should pray always. In the washroom, closet and wherever we find ourselves. We need prayer just as we need food, clothing and everything we consider a need or a basic essential. That played a memory back to me…

“There were days I recall arriving home from work doing nothing but land straight in my bedroom on my knees praying. Speaking to God anyhow i know and can…This is me trying to let it all out to Him after a truly heavy day. I end up “speaking in tongues” uninterrupted sometimes. πŸ‘… πŸ˜‰πŸ₯°

The confusion and nightmare there were in some days. Just because some bad days were awkwardly bad”. #IAmsmilingNow😊

How bad or cool are your bad days?

How does your emotion come to play days of heaviness?

And finally, how controlled are you those hay days plus how do you handle dark hours from the period of happening to end of it?

Even without talking prayer and silence with you, if speaking back at a situation or defending when you are confronted with issues is what you have to do, please carry on. Remember to apply wisdom. Some may be traps.Yes! Traps. We need wisdom daily in this life with the various lifestyles and intentions. If you are not sure you have wisdom, speak to God and ask for it when you can. Solomon in the Bible did and he got it. Speaking to God is basically talking knowing he will listen. Just like how we speak with our friends. There is no formula. Just speak.

Another thing about prayer is, at our worse sometimes, we may not be able to pray. God sees and hears the heart.”Jesus Christ also prays for us sometimes”.😊

Rev. Eastwood Anaba has a book titled “Jesus Is Praying For You”.

You should grab one and read when you can. A very small book with few pages. Should not even take you a day to finish it with all the revelation and knowledge in there.

In all this, we still need wisdom to decipher and discern situations that are worth it and ones that are not necessary.

Better put, on issues of life and heart, if you know a situation you are confronted with isn’t necessary, those involved not worth it,may I highly recommend you keep quiet but speak to someone rather to get a bit of relief and comfort other than confront certain situations or people?.

One you trust. One who understands you. One who has come to understand your environment and finally one who appreciates life and has grace to make maturity look attractive by impacting and advising you right.

Everyone on this corporate ladder and life journey needs that one person to talk to about issues. It should not necessarily be someone within your organization or circle.

It helps!

We all need that one person in life. One thing about God is that he will always give you that person. A mentor, pastor, psychologist, family or a friend.

You just need to look a little well or within to find the fellow that is if you think you do not have one. Yep!😊

For me, I am unconsciously unable to help but go on my knees some heavy days right after work or after a situation then I become better.

All I could think of doing since i could feel the heaviness within my heart hence letting it out gets me to feel better.

Mind you, there were days I did not totallt keep quiet over the issues when they happened, but I couldn’t survive next day with the heavy heart.

“I loved me light,” and one of the best ways I learned to be light was to give all to God. My Best Therapy!!!

Then I speak to someone who is now the closest male friend.πŸ˜πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ His words have become the best to listen to.

Frankly, I didn’t always want to listen to what he says especially when he wanted me to keep an open mind and deal with situations expecting me to snap back in a second and just move.

It was so easy for him to expect me to let it go and move on while he expected me to handle the situation as a leader that I am. Whoop whoop! We have come a long way. Constructive feedback and criticisms are needed. Don’t avoid them.

Life goes on…I have this friend who used to tell me this: “I won’t tell you what you want to hear. I will tell you what you need to know and what is right”. How real is that? Too real! Most of us usually want to talk to people who will tell us what we want to hear and be on our side. Nothing wrong with that. However, it is extremely important to talk to people who will be honest with you about situations, your reactions, actions, inactions and assist you on how to go about issues and resolve it.

What is it that is giving you sleepless night?

Giving you gloomy days? Who is that person who is a pain in your neck? The contract? Career? Relationship? Family? Education? Profession? Project?

Whatever your care is, just go on your knees. You will be amazed results. Things work out when you do. πŸ™πŸŽ‰πŸ’₯

Hey, can I whisper something nice in your ears?

You will always WIN.*wink.

You see, what I do when I let it out and some days cry it out to God is, I become light, free and he gives grace to move on and wisdom asuch.

God will blow your mind on how issues will be resolved if you give it to him as supposed you trying to fight about situations yourself.

Some of the situations are not worth it. Just demeaning.

He will lift you up above it if not immediate, sooner than you think. In lifting you above it, he will show you how it will be handled, via the process and the end.

I have had mind blowing instances of feeling vindicated, winning, learning and the culprits losing shamelessly 😊😊

Is it a key person or situation coming at you?

Issue getting you helpless? Life circumstances? Work?

Whoever and however, you got this. He is got you. Get some strength from being on your knees, and let’s see you win!

He gives strength to the weary. Isaiah 40:29.

And in John 14:26, the Bible talks about the Advocate being the Holy spirit will teach us all things.

Aside the spiritual bit, read. Read, read, read. Read articles and books when you can on relevant issues.

Conflict management, having difficult conversations but to mention a few.

Nonetheless, never end without being on your knee.

That also does not necessarily mean kneel down, but it means talking to God and that person you trust.

Kneeling is a sign of reverence and humility before a God who is a king and a Father.

God will defend, solve and fight for us in all situations. All we got do is, Go down on our knees & Let it go.

Give it to the Father Above.

Never Give up! Keep shinning!! Keep growing!!!

Keep Inspiring!!!πŸ₯°
