Cues You Don’t Want To Ignore In Conversations

Featured

A secondary school classmate reached out to me for my WhatsApp contact on social media and followed up with a well-crafted message about starting a brand, suggesting that my patronage would help build their dream brand. I was excited about the idea and welcomed it, expecting to receive product photos. However, the photos never arrived.

Weeks later, I ran into my classmate at a grocery store where a friend of mine manages. When my classmate mentioned the product idea, thinking I had not responded to her yet, I reminded her that I was yet to receive the photos, showing her our whatsapp chat as proof.

My friend who manages the shop asked about the “product” out of curiosity in a conversation with all three of us ladies present. And, instead of my classmate sharing product details or photos, she suggested getting her contact information from me. I was taken aback.
In an example as this, you would usually find me assisting by directing the conversation to favor my classmate. However, she is a sales lady, so I wanted to respect her reason for not going for it immediately.

The question I asked myself was, why didn’t she take my friend’s contact directly or immediately by asking? Clearly, my friend is a potential customer and would buy. My classmate would not struggle with trust and credibility from my friend because of me.

This experience reminded me about the essence of paying attention to cues and non-verbal language in sales and every conversation of life or profession.

As entrepreneurs and salespeople, we often overlook these subtle hints and lose potential clients.

In this scenario, I expected my classmate to:
1. Respond promptly to my friend’s query.
2. Share product evidence or photos.
3. Ask about my friend’s interests or product preference.

To smash your sales goals this this week and the second half of the year, do well to remember these three things:

🌼 Be proactive
Every inquiry or curious remark is a potential sales clue. Follow up and don’t sleep on it.
🌼 Pay attention to comments and non-verbal language.
These can reveal hidden opportunities.
🌼 Potential customers are everywhere
Be prepared to engage with prospects in any setting.

Some of the cues and hints we miss are in relationships, personal and professional settings. It happens to all of us sometimes. Once you become conscious and guided by paying attention to conversations, actions, and inactions, you are one step ahead of being proactive and taking charge of situations.

Wondering if you can sell or be an expert at selling anything? Let role plays be a companion, pay attention to conversations and cues(verbal and non-verbal).

Enjoy July as we end the month being more aware and showing up.

Happy Selling and Happy New Week! 💜

By being more attentive to these cues, you can increase your chances of closing deals and building successful relationships with clients.

Key engines we can thrive on in 2025

Featured

I am yet to retire to bed, but this suddenly dropped. May be it is time to ink my first post for 2025 here so I can build on and stay consistent, blogging this year. This became necessary because I shared the link to this blog on my instagram account today.

It is essential to reflect on how the first half has been as we dive into the second half of the year. What has been your highlight so far? Your highs and lows? What goals did you set out to achieve, and how have you fared generally?

Before we progress, please desist from beating yourself up with the guilt of not achieving goals and meeting expectations. Primarily, having goals is good. It is a guide, not a process to a ‘death sentence’ of achieving. Take it a step at a time.

How do you feel?

The year for me started on a bright note, filled with hope and promise. However, as we transitioned into the later part of Q2, things began to feel heavy. It was as if a weight had settled in, and I couldn’t quite pinpoint the cause. Amidst my best efforts, the feeling persisted, leaving me wondering what was amiss.

But then, something shifted. A weekend in an Anglican church in Cape Coast, Pedu, proved to be a turning point. The powerful prayer and message helped lift the weight off my shoulders.

I felt light again, renewed, and rejuvenated.

As I look to the second half of the year, my goals are more focused than ever.

How are you handling your goals, dreams and aspirations this half year?

Here are a few key areas I would recommend you prioritize based on what I have learned as engines:

🌼Spiritual Growth:
That we may deepen our relationship with God and cultivate a stronger sense of faith and trust. A source of guidance, strength, and wisdom. Creativity would be a bonus. Whoever your God is, work on building the ties.

🍎Personal Development:                              Continuous learning and growing are non-negotiable assets. Whether through reading, courses, interactions, workshops, or mentorship. Adapting to personal learning and growth will aid in keeping your head up.

🌸Relationships:
Nurturing relationships with loved ones and building meaningful support. A focus on improving and building connections with others plays a great role in adding to our social capital.

🌼Productivity:
Staying organized, prioritizing tasks, and implementing. Making progress on everyday life activities and key projects puts us ahead of the curve, but first, it elicites personal efficiency and makes us effective people.

My experience at the Anglican church in Pedu on the Sunday of the weekend and reading on faith during the later part of June reminded me of the relevance faith has in helping us navigate life’s challenges.

How do you navigate life?

By seeking God’s guidance and wisdom, we find a sense of peace and clarity that eludes us when we try to do it alone.

I will gently nudge you with these scriptures; Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”💡

Proverbs 18:10; “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”🌼

What gives you comfort, clarity and peace?

Our consolation is in the promise of God. His promises are in his word. That which reiterates safety, soundness, greatness, and peace. Whatever he says, he would make it materialize.👏

These are three major highlights for me I would leave with you today:

1. Faith can be a powerful engine for growth and transformation.
2. Community is essential for support and encouragement.
3. Self-reflection is of utmost importance for personal growth.🌟

Keep trusting and keep up with a faith mindset for the second half of the year.

Focus and put in the work. Everything is going to align friend.🙏

It would be great to read from you. How are you holding up?🍇

Thanks for engaging.🧡

An Expert in desert Planting

Featured

Wikipedia defines a desert as a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs.

Consequently, living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life. The lack of vegetation exposes the unprotected surface of the ground to denudation. About one-third of the land surface of the Earth is arid or semi-arid.

According to scripture, the desert is in a salt land where no one lives.

Denudation is soil erosion. When the part of the soil full of nutrients and elements that can aid plants to grow is swept off .

Arid means lack of rain. A dry land.

You know the desert land may not be a land to serve the purpose of food and nutrition. And you can attest that it is no place for planting and Growth.

Why in the name of God will Isaiah 41:19 say; I will make trees grow in the desert — cedars, acacia, myrtle, and olive trees. I will put pine, fir, and cypress trees growing together in the desert?

An expert is; ‘having or involving a great deal of knowledge or skill in a particular area’. This is as an adjective and not a noun according to Oxford dictionary.

God as an Expert does not only have knowledge and skill in tree planting in the desert, he sustains and grows those trees beautifully. An Expert in doing the Impossibles.

A desert land in the Mediterranean…

I have seen two deserts, all in the Middle East. One in SouthWest Asia and the other in East Asia. Aside from the beauty of the landscape, which is full of sand, the temperature is usually hot, and the direction of wind that blows make it a belligerent environment to live in. Not only for plants but humans as well.

Yet, we have a Father who specializes in planting tress and plants in a desert land. Extra ordinary God.

The impulse of this, he makes seemingly impossible things possible. A miracle working God. One who makes worse situations Great. He specializes in making the ugly beautiful.

I don’t know what troubles you have and challenges you seem to be facing. Here to encourage you to Trust in a Father who calms storms and makes all things beautiful.

He is bigger than our troubles.

If it seems impossible, consider him as the person who plants trees in the desert to come through. Won’t he fix yours? 🏜

Exodus 5:3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God. Your desert may be your place of sacrifice. And after every sacrifice and pain is Victory.💥

Hey you, are you muddling about life issues?

How about you mull over this word to give you comfort…Isaiah 41:10; “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

This is your friendly reminder that, we have a friend who specializes in making Impossible situations Possible!👌

Whatever the experience may be, remember he Got You.🤗❤️

We are winning baby! Cheers to More 🍷

Thank you for making time to read, like, and also sharing a comment.💜

Chart the Path, IWD 2024

I chart my path with confidence as a result of who God says I am first, and as a woman in corporate, I have deeply experienced the power of positive impact and words, personal growth and development and the courage to have opinions uttered and be authentically, myself.

As women, we are increasingly getting empowered to decide the course of our lives and professions and realize our full potential. The ability in women to take decisions with regards to life and work, giving equal rights in all spheres can be inspiring.

Inspiring inclusion to me means, being the reason another woman has a voice, the force that makes another woman feel confident and valued, and finally, opening the door wide for others and paying it forward for the future generation. Generally, creating an enabling environment for everyone to thrive. I will do this for me, for the voiceless and for my daughters.

As a result of one woman’s compliment to the young me on my work ethics when I commenced corporate, a young lady’s confidence did sprout beautifully as a flower will do. Like a rose flower, did i get to have thorns and petals? YES I did and it has been an absolute pleasure taking this route.🌹

With a steady increase in the number of working women, most women have gained financial independence, which has given the confidence to lead our lives and build our own identities. We are successfully taking up diverse professions to prove that we are second to none in any respect.

But while doing so, we also take care to strike a balance between commitment to Profession as well as home and family. Playing multiple roles of a partner, daughter, mother, sister and a working professional with harmony and ease. With equal opportunities to work, we are functioning with a spirit of Team work to render all possible cooperation to the male counterparts in meeting the deadlines and targets set in our respective professions.

This is not limited to urban working women but women in even remote areas, educated or not, they are asserting social and political rights and making their presence felt, regardless of socio-economic backgrounds.

While it is true that women, by and large, do not face discrimination in society today, unfortunately, many of us face exploitation and harassment which can be of diverse types: emotional, physical, mental. Often subjected to forms of intellectual, mental and physical violence.

In the truest sense, inclusivity will be achieved only when there is attitudinal change in society with regard to women, treating women with respect, dignity, fairness and equality.

Though women are increasingly getting empowered to decide the course of their lives, professions and realize their fullest potential, almost half of the total percentage of the world’s population, most women are still deprived of their rights in most of the developing countries across the globe, some women are living deprived lives, due to prevalent gender discrimination and it has been widely prevalent that more women are mostly deprived of an equal opportunity.

I am glad the institution I work with is not gender biased. Watching women take up spaces and higher roles, having a voice and not being sidelined, gives first hand comfort to people like myself to keep going while at it, 💯 . The deliberate change the world seeks to present, holding women in high esteem, is beautiful to watch the culture of inclusivity being built.

I have been privileged to have amazing women inspire me up close and from afar, even though i get to experience dominated male influence. As a passionate individual and someone who works from the heart, I confirm that developing one’s self and learning to have a voice are the two common characteristics that run through these women.

Some days can be tough, it gets ‘hard’ sometimes, you will have it all put together and figured out in other days. Regardless how smooth or tough, do not lose yourself woman! Tenacity is but a word in action and you have it.

Keep going and never give up. We are rooting for you.

Utilizing your gift and talent is key. Be that ray of sunshine and brighten every corner. Let’s shatter those glass ceilings together.

It is important that we appreciate ourselves. Our personality types, temperaments and our make up which are uniquely different hence, creating an environment that accommodates our diverse nature and perspectives is imperative for our existence to inspire inclusion.

While at it woman, build the balance. Emotional, mental and physical well-being. Take care of you. Your health and emotions. Grow. Work hard but take breaks. Be deliberate about your joy and energy.

Channel the inner Joys and energy onto others. Be Happy Woman!!!

What does inclusion mean to you woman?

How do you radiate inner strength and Joy?

Will love to hear how you hold it together.

A former minister of law and justice in India by name B. R. Ambedkar once said; “I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.” And quoting Mary Shelley, an English Novelist; “I do not wish women to have power over men; but over themselves.”

I am glad the 21st century woman makes progress each day regardless of the amount of strides. Most importantly, improving oneself each day and having power over ourselves.

Happy International Women’s Day!💜

Cheers to more🥂
